Even far from the coast, our choices ripple outward. Embracing the Tides: Protecting Moana is a conservation-themed art exhibition that invites Manawatū communities to explore the deep connections between everyday life and ocean health. Through marine-inspired artworks and interactive school involvement, this exhibition aims to spark curiosity, reflection, and action.
Featuring pieces created to highlight the beauty and fragility of marine ecosystems, the exhibition encourages visitors to consider how plastic use, waste disposal, and consumer habits affect vulnerable ocean species—even from inland regions. Local schools will take part in Sea Week activities designed to foster environmental responsibility and creative engagement in young people.
Art has the power to tell stories, shift perspectives, and inspire change. Embracing the Tides is more than a display—it’s a call to protect our oceans through small, meaningful choices and collective care. Join us in celebrating creativity, community, and our shared role in safeguarding the sea.
